Hours after quitting saffron party, Subhas Chouhan joins BJD



Bhubaneswar: Breaking his 30-year-long association with the saffron party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), senior leader Subhas Chouhan joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the presence of party Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas, Wednesday.


His move comes a day after he resigned from the saffron party to register protest against denial of party ticket to him to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Bargarh seat in Odisha.

“Inspired by the ideology of Naveen Patnaik, I joined BJD. I have worked for the service of the people for more than 30 years and will continue to work for them in coming days,” he said. that even permission was not granted to hold the rally in the city.
